Bolton Plastic Components Ltd. have recently invested significantly in the latest multi-axis suction blow and 3 dimensional blow moulding technology. This technology allows the manufacture of flash-free engine air intake ducts, eliminating the risk of air leakage on Engine Air Intake Systems, and the extensive benefits of the ability to manufacture using dual materials. The manufacture of engine air intake ducts using hard and soft materials allows the optimum combination of flexibility and rigidity, and the ability to function at the extremes of operating conditions.

 

Bolton Plastics have extensive experience in design support, development and manufacture of the clean and dirty side engine air intake ducts, for both low and high volume vehicles. Working closely with our customers in the automotive industry, we have developed engine air intake ducts to work effectively in the increasingly demanding under bonnet environment of the latest generation of naturally aspirated, turbo-charged and super-charged vehicles.

 

Our sophisticated manufacturing processes allow us to develop optimum solutions to meet the challenges set by our customers applications. The constraints of available space (the packaging aspect of design) is addressed by our engineering team using CAD systems to accurately define space constraints and utilising our manufacturing expertise to develop engine air intake ducts that meet all required performance criteria.

 

Our engineers actively work with the customer engineers to ensure the full scope of performance specification for the engine air intake duct are met, including measures to achieve reduced levels of NVH (noise, vibration and harshness), the ability to accommodate engine rock, and the ability to cope with anticipated temperatures.

 

We offer full system packages combining the technologies of blow moulding and injection moulding. This includes engine air intake ducts that can incorporate integrally moulded resonators, spouts and brackets in the overall manufacturing process, reducing or removing the need for subsequent post manufacturing welding, and providing complete high quality assemblies. We offer an in depth understanding of, and impressive track record in, the refinement, development and manufacture of engine air intake ducts.
